KENT, Ohio – Kent State's field hockey team continued to earn recognition for its academic excellence by having two players named as 2018 Zag Field Hockey/NFHCA Division I Scholars of Distinction.
Senior Aileen Ahlers, freshman Meghan Daly, and sophomore Azure Fernsler were among 140 student-athletes to receive the honor.
The Division I Scholars of Distinction program recognizes student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.9 or higher through the first semester of the 2018-19 academic year.
The Golden Flashes were also recently recognized by the NFHCA as a Division I National Academic Team Award recipient while 17 student-athletes were named to the Zag Field Hockey/NFHCA Division I National Academic Squad for achieving a cumulative GPA of 3.
