GENEVA, Ohio – Kent State's Danniel Thomas led the way for the Golden Flashes at the SPIRE Division I Invitational Saturday, winning the shot put with a mark of 17.24m (56' 6.75").
Thomas' mark of 56' 6.75" gave her the women's shot put title by over four feet in a field filled competitors from MAC and Big Ten Conference. Rebecca Leppelmeier secured a top-10 finish in the shot put, placing ninth with a season-best mark of 14.31m (46' 11.5"). Finishing 14th overall was Ada Nicholson-Burley at a distance of 13.
