CLEVELAND, Ohio – Kent State senior Grace Tennant was named the Mid-American Conference Female Scholar-Athlete of the Week for competition from February 15-21, the league office announced late Friday afternoon.
Tennant set a personal-best of 55'-2" to win her sixth consecutive shot put competition at the Kent State Tune-Up on February 20. At the time, her throw ranked 10th in the country and was 2'-6.75" further than any other MAC competitor this season.
The senior currently sits 14th on the national performances list, according to TFRRS. Athletes who finish in the top-16 nationally in their respected events will qualify for the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships, which will be held in Fayetteville, Ark.
