Swaney Recognized as Assistant Coach of the Year

The Women's Golf Coaches Association announced Wednesday that Kent State's Maddi Swaney was named the 2015-16 Golf Pride Grips WGCA Assistant Coach of the Year.

Swaney has held the role of assistant coach at her alma mater since 2011 and helped the Flashes become a Top 15 team this season while breaking the program's season scoring average for the third straight year. During her tenure, Kent State has made five NCAA Regional appearances and two of the Flashes' three NCAA Championship individual appearances. In the past two seasons, Swaney has helped Kent State tie the Mid-American Conference consecutive championship title record and then break it with its 18th-straight championship in 2016.
