CLEVELAND - The Kent State field hockey team swept the Mid-American Conference Players of the Week awards, the league announced this afternoon.
Sophomore Patricia Strunk was awarded MAC Offensive Player of the Week and junior Cecile van Eijck was awarded MAC Defensive Player of the Week.
Strunk led the Kent State on offense this past weekend, recording four points and two goals against Miami and Lock Haven while the Flashes went 2-0. On Friday, Strunk scored a penalty stroke goal to take the lead 1-0 against the RedHawks. The Flashes went on to defeat the first place RedHawks 2-1.
