Stellar Pitching Leads Flashes in Doubleheader Sweep at Rival Akron

AKRON, Ohio – Kent State extended its win streak to six games by going on the road to defeat Akron, 3-1 and 1-0, in a Crystal Clinic Wagon Wheel Challenge doubleheader on Wednesday afternoon.

The Golden Flashes (22-21, 18-11 MAC) were led by the pitching performances of Freshman Jessica LeBeau and sophomore Gabbie Sherman, who combined to limit the Zips to just seven hits. LeBeau tossed a complete game in the opener and recorded her second save with two scoreless innings in the nightcap.

Senior Kaitlyn Miller and junior Megan Turner each had three hits on the day.
