CLEVELAND, Ohio – Kent State senior infielder Holly Speers has been named Mid-American Conference East Division Player of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday (April 24). It is the fourth time Speers has won a weekly conference award this season.
Speers blasted four home runs with 11 RBIs while hitting .778 (7-for-9) and recording a slugging percentage of 2.333 this week. Speers began her big week on Wednesday against Pitt, hitting a pinch hit grand slam in the sixth inning. On Friday against Buffalo, Speers went 1-for-2 with a double, a walk and a run scored in a 10-0, five inning Kent State win.
