(KENT, Ohio) - On Sunday afternoon, the Kent State women's soccer team opened its home schedule against Dayton, losing 5-0. This puts the Golden Flashes at 1-1 on the season, following a victory at Cleveland State Thursday.
Dayton proved why it has been ranked where it is in the preseason polls, jumping out to a 1-0 lead in the fifth minute on a goal by midfielder Marlee Taylor, assisted by Jessica Sheldon. Taylor would then add on to her scoring, when she got her second goal roughly 15 minutes later, this time unassisted, to put Kent State in a 2-0 hole partway through the first half.
