Soccer Clipped 2-0 by Florida Gulf Coast

Fort Myers, Fla. – The Kent State soccer team (1-3) fell on the road 2-0 to Florida Gulf Coast (4-1) on Friday, Sept. 1 at the FGCU Soccer Complex. The match was plagued by severe weather in the area as the 7 p.m. scheduled start turned into a late night 9 p.m. kickoff.

The Eagles scored their first goal of the match in the 20th minute when Marjorie Boilesen sent a header into to the net for her fourth goal of the season. Varin Ness and Ashley Parks recorded assists on the goal.

Lauren Greene tallied FGCU's second goal in the 82nd minute for her first goal of the season on a Holly Fritz assist 35-yards out on a free kick.
