Soccer Bested by Cleveland State 2-1 in Home Opener

KENT, Ohio – The Kent State soccer team (0-2-0) dropped its home opener, 2-1, to Cleveland State (1-1-0) on Sunday afternoon at Dix Stadium.

All three combined goals were scored in the first period, the Golden Flashes had opportunities in the second period, but could not find the back of the net. Kent State's lone goal occurred in the 41st minute.

"Credit to Cleveland State they outworked us, and they made a lot better decisions than us," said Kent State head coach Rob Marinaro. "It is early in the season, and we are still trying to figure out what works tactically and what personnel we are using.
