The College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) announced on Thursday that Kent State's Jared Skolnicki has been named an Academic All-District honoree.
To be eligible for the award, student-athletes must have a key role on the field while maintaining a 3.30 cumulative GPA and have reached sophomore standing.
Skolnicki has a 2-2 record with a 4.05 ERA in 14 appearances, including one start this season. He has struck out 31 batters while walking 14 in 33.1 innings. In the classroom, he boasts a 3.96 GPA while majoring in mathematics. Skolnicki will now be eligible for CoSIDA Academic All-American consideration.
