Scott Named Finalist for Stopper of the Year

KENT-Golden Flashes closer Mitchell Scott has been named a finalist for Stopper of the Year by the National College Baseball Writers of America (NCBWA).

Scott burst on to the scene with the Golden Flashes as a graduate transfer from the California Golden Bears. The righty led the nation with 15 saves, the second most in program history, and posted a sterling 1.94 earned run average over 46.1 innings.

The graduate student wasn't the prototypical closer, seven of his 15 saves were four outs or more with three (and two wins) coming in outings of at least two innings.
