CLEVELAND, Ohio – For the fourth time this season, Kent State redshirt freshman pitcher Andrea Scali took home the Mid-American Conference Pitcher of the Week Award, the league office announced Tuesday (April 9). She struck out 30 batters and earned three conference wins while holding the opposition to a .187 batting average last week and has won the most weekly awards of any pitcher in the conference.
Scali went 3-0 on the week and threw three complete games. In 21 innings of work, her ERA was a minuscule 1.33 with 30 strikeouts to just six walks.
