KENT, OHIO- Fifth-year senior Tim Rooney took home a pair of weekly awards, taking home the MAC West Division Wrester of the Week as well as the Scholar Athlete of the Week.
Rooney went 5-0 last week against SIU-E in a MAC dual and the 40th annual Virginia Duals. Rooney started the week with a 12-6 win over Jake Blaha to help the Golden Flashes win their first MAC dual of the season. He continued his winning ways with an impressive 3-1 win over Louie Hayes of Virginia in the opening match of the Virginia Duals.
