KENT, OHIO- Tim Rooney has added another All-America honor to his season accolades, adding the National Wrestling Coaches' Association (NWCA) Scholar All-America honors for the second-straight year.
Kent State also added the Scholar All-America team award. The NWCA honors the top-30 teams in Division-I with Scholar All-America status. The Golden Flashes ranked 18th in the country this past season with a team grade-point average of 3.232.
An exercise science major, Rooney will graduate with a 3.83 grade-point average. Earlier this season, he earned Academic All-MAC status for the fourth time. The Columbus, Ohio native excelled on the mat as well this season, capturing the conference title at 133 pounds.
