KENT, Ohio – For the last five weeks of field hockey play in the Mid-American Conference, no one has been as good defensively as Kent State's Andrea Rinehart. After finishing the 2015 regular season with three-straight Defensive Player of the Week honors, Rinehart was named the 2015 MAC Tournament MVP. Now to begin the 2016 season, she has earned Co-Defensive Player of the Week for her season-opening performance this past weekend.
Rinehart got off to a strong start this season, helping Kent State start 2-0 for the first time since 1995. Rinehart had seven saves in the two games, allowing just one goal in each match.
