Kent State University Athletics is inviting runners and walkers of all ages to register for the first annual "First Home Game 5K" to celebrate the start of the Golden Flashes' home schedule.
This year's 5K will be held on Saturday, September 16, starting at the Water Street Tavern in downtown Kent and ends at Dix Stadium. Registration and packet pick-up starts at 8 a.m. with the race starting at 9 a.m. A tailgate celebration and awards ceremony will begin at Dix Stadium at 10:30 a.m. The tailgate and post-race festivities will be open to everyone and will lead straight into the Golden Flashes' home opener against the Central Connecticut State at 12 p.
