Oregon State 69, Kent State 50: Second-half surge carries Beavers past Golden Flashes

CORVALLIS, Ore.: Oregon State coach Wayne Tinkle said that he challenged his team at halftime to come out of the locker room and play with some toughness.

“We just basically said, ‘Let’s man up and get after it,”’ Tinkle said.

Kendal Manuel had 17 points with four 3-pointers on Wednesday night as Oregon State broke open a close game in the second half to beat Kent State 69-50.

The game was back-and-forth for much of the second half, but the Beavers went on an 18-0 run, capped by a vicious Drew Eubanks dunk, to take a 60-42 lead with 4:27 remaining.
