For just the second time in school history, the University of Akron women’s basketball team won at Bowling Green. Anita Brown led four players in double figures with 23 points as the Zips earned a 71-55 Mid-American Conference win.
Brown also added seven rebounds as the Zips improved to 8-7 overall and 2-2 in the MAC.
Hannah Plybon (Orrville) scored 15 points, while DiAndra Gibson (Ravenna) and Greta Burry added 13 and 11 points, respectively.

Western Michigan had a three-point lead after the first quarter and extended it each subsequent quarter to beat visiting Kent State 73-52 in Kalamazoo, Mich.
