The University of Akron’s women’s basketball team’s three-game winning streak ended with a 59-51 loss Sunday at Northern Iowa.
The Zips (4-5) struggled from the floor early, hitting 15 percent of their shots from the field in the first half.
The rally to overcome a 33-14 halftime deficit fell short, as the Zips outscored Northern Iowa (4-5) 37-26 in the second half.
Anita Brown led the UA offense with 23 points.
It was the seventh time this year that Brown has scored 20 or more points.
