Samara Yurchak made nine saves in goal as the University of Akron tied defending Mid-American Conference champion Western Michigan 0-0 on Sunday in Kalamazoo, Mich. It was the Zips’ second consecutive scoreless double-overtime game.
The Broncos (9-6-1, 3-4-1) took 27 shots to Akron’s eight. Western Michigan goalies recorded two saves on shots by the Zips (3-9-7, 0-4-4).
