The University of Akron women’s basketball team outscored Buffalo by 18 points in the second half in a Mid-American Conference showdown at Rhodes Arena Wednesday en route to a 62-49 victory.
The Zips improved 16-12 overall and 10-7 in the MAC after trailing 29-24 at halftime.
The Zips shot 33 percent and had just one 3-pointer during the first two quarters. But they got hot in the second half and ended the game on a 16-6 run.
Overall, UA finished 7-of-12 on 3-pointers. Junior guard Hannah Plybon scored 13 of her game-high 21 points and senior guard Anita Brown scored 14 of her 20 points after halftime.
