University of Akron basketball coach Keith Dambrot was named Mid-American Conference Coach of the Year, the league office announced on Wednesday.
Dambrot, who has a 276-128 record at UA, earned the honor for the second time. He is one of two UA coaches to be named coach of the year and is the only one to win it twice (2013, 2016). The other coach to win the award was Dan Hipsher in 1998.
“I’m honored to win this award,” Dambrot said in news release. “There are a lot of great coaches in this league. This is a tribute to our team and coaching staff’s dedication and continued success.
