University of Akron junior Clayton Murphy crossed the finish line in 3:36.38 to win the men’s 1,500 meters at the NCAA Championships on Friday in Eugene, Ore.
Murphy finished almost a full two seconds ahead of second place to claim his first national title. Murphy placed third in the 800 meters at last year’s NCAA Championships.
