The Akron University women’s basketball team lost its fifth consecutive Mid-American Conference game, 61-57 to Toledo Wednesday at Rhodes Arena.
The Zips (9-15, 2-11) led 24-19 at halftime and 42-39 after three quarters, but the Rockets (18-7, 9-5) outscored UA 22-15 in the fourth quarter.
Senior guard Hannah Plybon (Orrville) led the Zips with 18 points. Senior guard Alex Ricketts finished with 11 points, redshirt sophomore Megan Sefcik had 10 points and junior forward Greta Burry had a team-high nine rebounds.
The Zips attempted just six free throws in the game, making five, while the Rockets were 13-of-17 from the line.
