In the final meet of its regular-season schedule, the University of Akron swimming and diving team downed Mid-American Conference host Miami 158-142 Saturday. The Zips had nine first-place swimmers and their divers placed in two of the three top spots in each dive.
KSU women’s basketball
Kent State could not hold a halftime lead Saturday, dropping a 65-53 MAC game to visiting Western Michigan (13-8, 5-4). Jordan Korinek (St. Vincent-St. Mary) scored a team-high 18 points for the Golden Flashes (4-15, 1-8).
Mount Union basketball
Jack Jacubec’s 23 points led five Mount Union players in double figures as the Purple Raiders posted a 97-96 Ohio Athletic Conference home win over Capital Saturday afternoon.
