The No. 16-ranked University of Akron rifle team lost its final match of the regular season to No. 17 Morehead State on Sunday in Morehead, Ky.
The Eagles dominated the smallbore competition en route to a 4,602-4,589 victory over the Zips, who tried to rally in the air rifle competition but fell short.
The Eagles took the top three spots in the smallbore before Zips junior Connor O’Mara placed fourth with a personal-best mark. Freshman Caleb Lloyd finished fifth for the Zips.
Junior Zach Strohl took top gun in the air rifle with a 587. O’Mara scored a 583 and freshman Rebecca Green tied a personal-best with a score of 579.
