The University of Akron and Kent State competed in the 2016 All-Ohio Outdoor Championships Saturday in Athens.
The Zips’ Shawnn Foster took home an individual title, placing first in the women’s heptathlon’s shot put with a mark of 10.62 meters. Daniel Zupan took first in the men’s 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 9:30.39. Alex McCune won the men’s javelin with a throw of 62.03 meters.
For Kent State, Chelsea Laury and Aspen Gaita finished first in 25.90 and second in 25.97, respectively, in the women’s heptathlon’s 200 meters. Ryan Looser won the men’s long jump in the decathlon with a leap of 6.
