On the record: UA men’s teams finish the 2015-16 year, ranked No. 21 in Capital One Cup standings

The University of Akron finished the 2015-16 year ranked No. 21 in the Capital One Cup final standings for men’s sports.

Stanford (126 points) captured top honors, followed by North Carolina (108) and Ohio State (80). The Zips earned 30 points.

The Zips recently were awarded the 2015-16 Reese Trophy as the top men’s athletics program in the Mid-American Conference.

The University of Akron Varsity “A” Hall of Fame committee is seeking nominations for its 2016 Hall of Fame Class.

The nominee must be a former Zips student-athlete, must have earned a bachelor degree and must be 10 years removed from eligibilty expiration to be eligible for the Hall of Fame.
