University of Akron junior track and field standout Jackie Siefring was named Mid-American Conference female scholar athlete of the week.
Siefring was also named Zips’ student athlete of the week and MAC women’s field athlete of the week earlier this week.
Siefring has a 3.623 GPA and won the pentathlon at last week’s Akron Invitational.

The NCAA has granted Akron football player Warren Ball a sixth year of eligibility after he suffered a season-ending injury last fall.
Ball started the first two games for the Zips last season and rushed for 181 yards and a touchdown before he suffered an injury during a 65-38 loss to Wisconsin on Sept.
