On the record: UA beats Cleveland State in women’s soccer

In Cleveland on Sunday, the Univeristy of Akron women’s soccer team scored three unanswered, second-half goals to beat Cleveland State 4-2. In all, four different players scored their first career goals in a Zips uniform.

Catie Corrigan gave the Zips a 1-0 lead early (3rd minute) in the match, before the Vikings responded with two quick goals.

Corrigan then assisted Ashley Amato in the 63rd minute to tie the score 2-2. Five minutes later, Erica Schrader put UA (2-3-0) ahead with an unassisted goal. Corrigan garnered another assist on Rachel Baughman’s (Louisville) goal in the 87th minute.
