On the record: Stuart Holthusen’s two-goal night leads UA to a 3-0 soccer win over WMU

Junior forward Stuart Holthusen scored two goals to propel the University of Akron men’s soccer team a 3-0 Mid-American Conference win over Western Michigan (9-5-4, 1-1-3 MAC) Saturday at Cub Cadet Field.

Holthusen scored his first goal in the 17th minute and his second goal in the 62nd minute.

Redshirt sophomore Ezana Kahsay scored the final goal in the 85th minute, securing the win for the Zips (10-5-3, 3-1-1 MAC).

The champion Zips will host the MAC Tournament on Friday and will play Western Michigan at 7 p.m. after Buffalo plays Bowling Green at 4 p.
