Shannon Talbot scored in overtime to give the Kent State field hockey team a 2-1 win over host Miami on Friday.
The RedHawks (8-6, 3-1 Mid-American Conference) scored in the 17th minute to go ahead 1-0 before Alison Harmatz scored the equalizer in the 26th minute for the Golden Flashes.
The Flashes (9-5, 5-0) used a staunch defense in the second half to fend off eight corner opportunities and keep the game scoreless in regulation.
The Flashes took control in overtime as Harmatz fed Talbot, who drove the ball past the goalkeeper into the back of the net for the game-winner.
