The University of Akron athletic department announced the appointment of Matt Newhouse to the position of associate athletics director for marketing and promotions.
Newhouse, an Akron alumni, will oversee all the Zips’ athletics marketing and promotions with a focus on driving ticket sales, increasing attendance and creating memorable game-day experiences for fans.
Newhouse previously worked at Grand Canyon, Georgia State and Florida State, where he held various marketing positions in the athletic department.
“My family and I could not possibly be more excited about this opportunity,” Newhouse said. “This position allows my career to come full circle to the place where I got started in this business.
