Larissa Lurken scored 22 points and McKenna Stephens added 12 points to give the Kent State women’s basketball team a 77-52 win over Bradley in the 2016 season opener on Friday in Kent.
The win is the first career win for Golden Flashes coach Todd Starkey.
Volleyball
Jessica Kloehn had eight kills, Karley Kusan had 25 assists and Brenna Mack had 14 digs for the University of Akron volleyball team in a 3-0 loss to host Miami on Friday.
The Zips (8-19, 3-12 Mid-American Conference) lost 25-17, 25-10 and 25-20 to the RedHawks (22-5, 14-1).
