The Kent State women’s basketball team seemed well on its way to its first Mid-American Conference victory Saturday afternoon, but the Golden Flashes fizzled out in a 77-66 defeat to Buffalo.
The Flashes (3-10, 0-3) scored 24 points in the first quarter, but the Bulls (10-4, 2-1) held them to just five points in the second. Despite facing an 11-point deficit early, the Bulls managed to enter halftime with a one-point lead. The Bulls outpaced the Flashes 47-37 until the end of the game.
Sophomore forward Jordan Korinek scored 19 points for the Golden Flashes, and junior guard Larissa Lurken added 17.
