On the record: KSU women win 18th consecutive MAC title

At the Mid-American Conference Women’s Golf Championships in Noblesville, Ind., Kent State won its 18th consecutive team title and University of Akron freshman Danielle Nicholson shot a final round 1-under par 71 to take the 2016 tournament medalist honors. Nicholson became the first UA golfer to win the individual tournament title. She set the UA all-time lowest score at the MAC with a 5-under par 211 total at the Purgatory Golf Club.

Kent State moved into first place on Saturday and extended its lead by a stroke over second place Toledo on Sunday.

Wad Phaewchimplee led the Golden Flashes with a fourth-place individual finish.
