Kent State will face No. 17 Northwestern in Evanston, Ill. at 3 p.m. Saturday in first round of the NCAA women’s soccer tournament.
The Golden Flashes are making their first NCAA Tournament appearance after capturing the first Mid-American Conference Tournament title in program history with a 1-0 win over Northern Illinois Sunday.
At 15-2-2 overall, the Flashes set a record for victories and tied a record for MAC wins this season with eight. They also set a program mark with a 13-match unbeaten streak, and coach Rob Marinaro was named MAC Coach of the Year for the third time.
