The Kent State softball team swept a doubleheader against host Youngstown State on Tuesday.
Madi Huck allowed one run on five hits and struck out five to lead the Golden Flashes (21-24) to a 7-1 win in the first game. Allie Luther had three RBI and Olivia Sborlini hit a two-run triple for the Flashes. Bailey Brownfield had an RBI double and Maddy Grimm scored two runs.
Ronnie Ladines hit a grand slam in the top of the seventh inning to rally the Flashes for a 5-4 win in the second game.
Janel Hayes allowed four runs on seven hits and struck out three in the complete-game win for the Flashes.
