Kent State senior guard Larissa Lurken was named Mid-American Conference East Division Player of the Week on Tuesday.
Lurken scored 10 of her 31 points in overtime to lead the Golden Flashes to a 83-77 win over Ohio last week. During the game Lurken set a MAC single-season record for free throws made with 223 — 10 more than any other player in the country. Lurken is 52 made free throws away from breaking the NCAA Division I record.
Lurken is also on pace to set a new KSU single-season scoring average record and is sixth in the country with 23.
