Fourth-ranked Missouri won the final five bouts, four by pin, in taking a dual match 35-12 from host Kent State on Sunday afternoon.
Redshirt freshman Casey Sparkman (Perry) gave the Golden Flashes (5-2 overall, 1-1 Mid-American Conference) a 12-6 lead at the midway point. It was Sparkman’s first career dual start. He posted a 7-2 decision at 157 pounds.
Missouri improved to 5-0 overall and 3-0 in the MAC.
Monsters hockey
The host Charlotte Checkers posted a 4-3 overtime over the Lake Erie Monsters on Sunday. The Monsters are now 15-8-2-2 and are in fourth place in the AHL’s Central Division standings.
