The Kent State women’s golf team made school history on Tuesday with wins at the Mid-American Match Play Challenge in Bradenton, Fla.
The No. 7-ranked Golden Flashes won their fourth consecutive match for the first time in program history, defeating Northern Illinois 3-2 in the semifinals and Eastern Michigan 4-1 in the final round.
“I was happy with the way they played and competed,” coach Greg Robertson said. “We saw a lot of good things out of each player and we also found some things we can work on.”
The Flashes won four matches in the final round, with Josee Doyon (2-up), Michaela Finn (6 and 5), Taylor Kim (6 and 3) and Wad Phaewchimplee (6 and 4) leading the Flashes.
