On the record: Kent State women’s golf team moving up at Central Florida Challenge

The Kent State women’s golf team improved by six strokes Monday and moved up five spots in the second of three rounds at the University of Central Florida Challenge at the par-72 Eagle Creek Golf Club in Orlando.

The Golden Flashes shot a 4-under 284 and moved into a tie for seventh place with a 2-under 574 overall. The Flashes are six strokes out of the top three and 14 shots behind first-place Mississippi State.

Kent State’s Wad Phaewchimplee is tied for 21st place at 2 under with back-to-back rounds of 71. Phaewchimplee earned two birdies early and, after her only bogey, parred eight consecutive holes to end the day.
