On the record: Kent State women’s golf team loses to top-ranked Northwestern, finishes fifth in nation

The No. 15 ranked Kent State women’s golf team’s 2017 NCAA National Championship run ended on Tuesday with a 3-2 loss to top-ranked Northwestern in the quarterfinal match play round.

The Golden Flashes finished the National Championship in the fifth place, the highest the program has ever placed in the tournament.

Karoline Stormo and Pimnipa Panthong each won their matches, but Kelly Nielsen (Kent Roosevelt), Wad Phaewchimplee and Michaela Finn each lost to give the Wildcats the win.
