Karoline Stormo carded a 1-over 73 and the Kent State women’s golf team is in second place after the first round of the NCAA Championships.
The No. 12-ranked Golden Flashes shot a 15-over 303 and sit three strokes behind first-place Northwestern.
Stormo is tied for third place and Michaela Finn is tied for ninth place with a 3-over 75 to lead the Flashes.
Wad Phaewchimplee is tied for 19th, Pimnipa Panthong is tied for 34th and Kelly Nielsen is tied for 70th to round out the Flashes’ starting five.
The second round begins Saturday morning at Rich Harvest Farms in Sugar Grove, Ill.
