On the record: Kent State women top Bowling Green 80-78

Megan Carter’s game-winner with 28 seconds left in the game, allowed Kent State to beat visiting Bowling Green 80-78 Saturday afternoon. The Mid-American Conference win improved the Golden Flashes to 5-4 in the league and 11-10 overall.

The redshirt freshman’s jumper broke a 78-78 tie, the sixth tie in the fourth quarter. She finished with 13 points off the bench.

Larissa Lurken led Kent State with 31 points, 19 of which came from the free-throw line. Jordan Korinek (St. Vincent-St. Mary) added 18 points and seven rebounds. Bowling Green’s (5-16, 1-8) Carly Santoro led all scorers with 32 points.
