On the record: Kent State tied for 12th after first day of NCAA women’s golf regionals

The Kent State women’s golf team finished the first round of the NCAA Regionals in Bryan, Texas on Friday with a 10-over 298.

The Golden Flashes are tied for 12th place with Tulane and are 14 strokes behind first-place Georgia.

Amira Alexander led the Flashes with an even-par 72 and is tied for 20th individually. Michaela Finn is tied for 36th and Wad Phaewchimplee is in 46th place. Josee Doyon carded a 5-over and Taylor Kim shot a 7-over to round out the Flashes’ lineup.

The six lowest teams after Saturday’s final round advance to the next round of the NCAA Regionals along with the three low individuals not on a qualifying team.
