On the record: Kent State men’s team tied for fifth at Louisiana Classics golf tournament

The Kent State University men’s golf team is tied for fifth place at 1-under 575 through 54 holes at the Louisiana Classics in Hilton Head, S.C.

The Golden Flashes are 17 strokes behind Illinois, which sits atop the leaderboard with a score of 18-under 558.

Sophomore Chase Johnson (Walsh Jesuit) and freshman Gisli Sveinbergsson are tied for 14th place with rounds of 1-under 143. Junior Josh Whalen shot an even-par 144, which is good for a tie for 26th place.

Junior Ian Holt (Stow) and Tyler McHugh finished are tied for 33rd and 60th place, respectively.
