On the record: Kent State men’s golf team places fourth at Gopher Invitational

The Kent State University men’s golf team opened the season with a fourth-place finish at the Gopher Invitational, hosted by Minnesota, at the Windsong Farm Golf Club in Independence, Minn. The Golden Flashes finished with a score of 20-over 872 for their second consecutive top-5 finish at the annual event.

Ian Holt (Stow) finished tied for seventh with a 215. Holt had his best round of the tournament on Sunday, when he shot a 1-under 70.

Chase Johnson (Walsh Jesuit), Josh Whalen and Gisli Sveinbergsson each tied for 27th for Kent.
