The Kent State football team will open the season on the road against defending national champion Clemson and will also travel to Louisville during the nonconference portion of its schedule.
The Golden Flashes will play Clemson on Sept. 2, return home to play Howard on Sept. 9 and then travel to Marshall Sept. 16 and Louisville on Sept. 23 before opening their Mid-American Conference schedule.
It will be KSU’s first game against Clemson and the second consecutive year the Flashes have played the defending national champion. KSU traveled to Alabama this past seasonh.
Kent State’s three MAC West crossover opponents from the 2016 schedule will also be on the 2017 schedule.
